Earth is constantly bombarded with primary cosmic rays , high energy charged particles — mostly protons and alpha particles. By the time the cosmic ray cascade reaches the surface of Earth it is primarily composed of neutrons.

Some cosmic ray particles reach the surface of the earth and contribute to the natural background radiation environment. It was discovered about a decade ago that cosmic ray interaction with silica and oxygen in quartz produced measurable amounts of the isotopes Beryllium and Aluminium Researchers suggested that the accumulation of these isotopes within a rock surface could be used to establish how long that surface was exposed to the atmosphere.
Assuming a constant rate of production, the number of atoms of Be and Al that accumulate in a rock surface will be proportional to the length of time the rocks were exposed to cosmic ray bombardment and the respective rates of radioactive decay for each isotope.

Nuclear Catastrophe in Paleo Times in Ontario In ancient times there was a devastating nuclear explosion centered over Michigan just north of Detroit. Intense radiation bathed the whole area and the temperature during the blast raised the temperature over the area to over 1, degrees centigrade. This reset the cosmic clocks in the area now suggesting that this area was occupied by humans at least 30, years ago. This blast affected the whole region of the Eastern North America and may have been responsible for the extinction of the mega fauna of North America.
While the evidence is obvious there was huge blast over the area in about 10, BC the idea that it was a supernova that did not occur at the correct time as the paper suggests is incongruous with what would happen when a supernova irradiates the earth. When we are struck by blast from space it is funnelled down via the earth’s magnetic field and bathes the north and south pole with the energy. It is not likely that it would punch a hole in the field and then bathe the Great Lakes area with radiation.
In fact the Vela Supernova occurred around the same time as the blast, but the same problem prevails. Astronomically it would seem to have to be an event while high over head so that the entire area was affected, but close enough to blast a hole in the magnetic field. I have never seen a place quite like this… all this was conveyed to me by one young fellow in his late twenties, Jitendra Tewary. Jitendra who is a correspondent of a Hindi daily, and who also owns a studio, has discovered many megaliths around the region.
The megaliths are solely burial and memorial stones. The opposite facing tilted stones are inclined towards East and West The distinctive feature of the megaliths here is that many of the sepulchral stones can be seen placed inclining towards the west and to its opposite, a little to the left there would be another stone tilted towards the west.
Such stones are seen placed side-by-side creating a row with a north-south alignment the orientation of the dead in India.
